The history of Almaty Circus dates back to the year 1972, when the building was erected as an initiative of Dinmukhamed Kunaev, the first secretary of the Kazakh SSR Central. The project invited architects from Ukraine, Slonov, and Katsev, and built the architectural marvel, which is now known as the Kazakh State Circus Almaty, making it one of the best places to visit in Almaty.
