History of Gardens by the Bay
Gardens by the Bay is a relatively new addition to Singapore’s landscape, but its development is rooted in the city-state’s vision for urban sustainability and green spaces.- In 2005-2006 The idea for Gardens by the Bay emerged as part of Singapore’s plan to transform its waterfront into a vibrant leisure and recreational destination.
- In 2006, an international design competition was launched to solicit proposals for the development of Gardens by the Bay.
- Construction of Gardens by the Bay began in 2007, with the first phase focusing on the development of Bay South Garden, the largest of the three waterfront gardens.
- Gardens by the Bay officially opened to the public in June 2012, with the completion of Bay South Garden and its iconic attractions, including the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and Supertree Grove.

Exit B and follow the underground linkway. Cross the Dragonfly or Meadow Bridge to get inside Gardens by the Bay. MRT will cost you between $1.50-$2.50. You can get an MRT from the airport directly.
Shuttle: A shuttle runs between Bayfront MRT and Conservatories every 10 minutes.
