What’s more remarkable about this place is that these gardens provide a mesmerizing view of the Arabian Sea that helps to forget the city’s chaos for a while and creates peace within. Here, you will find structures carved in the shape of animals. Looking at the above, you will see the letters PMG written in cursive, an acronym for Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens.
Adv. Pherozeshah Mehta was a famous Lawyer, social activist, and a great politician; even the people of Mumbai used to call him the “Lion of Bombay”.
According to the legends, it is said that the garden was made to save water from getting contaminated because of the activities done near the area of the Tower of Silence; it’s a funeral tower from where the Parsi community kept the dead bodies of their community as a last ritual.
However, these practices are rarely seen in India due to environmental awareness and urbanization. After a few years, the garden was renovated, and a few new structures were added to enhance the beauty of the hanging garden in the year 1920.
The hanging gardens are great places for jogging and morning walks. You can also bring your friends and family for a picnic, pack your lunch box, and indulge in activities like potluck. The garden is located at Malabar Hills and gives a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. Because of this, it is one of the biggest tourist attractions for photography and tourism.
You can also observe the sundial made up of marble and a flower clock located at the centre of the garden.

“I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

“In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

“After an amazing trip to Tirthan with WanderOn, I decided to go to Manali-Jispa with them and yet again, the experience was worth every penny. The place was very beautiful and the quality of service was top-notch, the itinerary was very good and the quality of transportation and stays were very good. Had an awesome time there and made some good friends as well. Lastly, our trip captains Priyasha and Rachit managed the entire trip very well and were so fun and made our trip an experience worth remembering.
