It has also been reported that the re-construction will take almost seven years, involving a complete overhaul of the garden, which also means that there will be a lot of removal of trees, out of which 350 of them will be transplanted in the nearby areas.

The idea of the INR 698 Crores project was first initiated in the 2017 audit, which revealed that the condition of the reservoir is deteriorating, and if the essential measures are not taken, then the entire structure will be at risk.

The future of the 136-year-old Hanging Garden remains hung up as the city strives towards development while also preserving its natural habitat.
