2. Serolsar Lake: In Nature’s Tranquil Haven

Serolsar Lake, there is a saying that it is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Jibhi, is covered by thick woods secured with pine trees. The lake lies calmly and is a visual treat. The Lake lies in the east of Jalori Pass, which is at an elevation of 3040 meters. It is a small trek of 6 km which begins from Jalori Pass. Trekking is the main choice to arrive at the lake. With loved ones or solo, you can do Jibhi sightseeing here by lounging around this lake or plunging your feet into the water. It is believed that Banjar Valley was ruled by Rishi Shringa, the deity of the valley. It is believed that the valley was used by the Rishis as a location for meditation. Several stories hover around the sacred stone found in Skeeran”s forest. 

The Skeeran forest eventually became the site of the temple built by the village people. However, traveling to worship became difficult for them. Hence they created another temple dedicated to Rishi Shringa which was built in Bagi village. The newly constructed temple is  12 km away from the old one. 

Due to its peace and serenity, Banjar Valley is believed to have been visited by many Rishis and Nag Devta during satyug. Shringa Rishi is an influential historical deity of kullu also associated with 18 primary deities of Kullu. Every year around May, priests and locals visit Shringa Rishi Temple to perform puja. Otherwise, the place is heavily snow-covered throughout the year.

5. Great Himalayan National Park: Sanctuary of Biodiversity

A visit to Jibhi is incomplete without visiting the Great Himalayan National Park. This place will increase the thirst for natural flora and fauna. A lot of poaching happens here due to which steps have been taken to protect the belt. You need to get special permission to enter this place. 

The national park features more than 100 plant species including medicinal herbs. The park is also one of the great attractions in Himachal Pradesh for camping and bird watching for tourists.It has a variety of herbs such as pine, chestnuts, spruces, and alpine herbs. The best season to travel is March, April, May, June, and then mid-September, October, and November. Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh is also a great place to visit during that time.

6. Chehni Kothi: An Architectural Marvel

Shringa Rishi, one of the best temples in Jibhi, Bagi Village is where you will start your trek to Chehni Kothi. It is about 3 km from Jibhi to Banjar, where the road divides Bagi. As there are no local buses there to go to this place, you’ll need to arrange for a cab. 

You can trek to Chehni Kothi for an hour from Shringi Rishi Temple. There is clear signage on the trail, so it can be done without a guide. An unspoiled and isolated village in Jibhi valley, Chehni Kothi is situated in the hills. This village is well-known for its two temple towers located at a height of 2145 meters above sea level. Folklore says the temples are over 1500 years old. This has not been documented in writing. The temples were built by King Dhadhu around the 17th century and are locally referred to as Dhadhiya Kothi.

No matter how old the tower is, it is enormous. The tower is about 30 meters high and made without any concrete or steel. The tower was even taller before the earthquake of 1905, but it lost a few meters. As of now, the shorter tower is used as a temple. The best time to visit is November to February.

7. Jibhi Waterfall: Nature’s Symphony

The waterfall is one of the most accessible attractions in Jibhi. The path leading to the waterfall is lined with a lot of wooden bridges, which adds to the beauty of the place. Raghupur Fort is an ancient fort located in Jibhi and is believed to have been built by the Mandi Rulers to keep civilians safe from invasions. The fort is believed to have been built during the 17th century and is known for its beautiful architecture and intricate carvings. A walk or rather a move of 3 km from Jalori pass, the way gets extreme during the last kilometer. The way is secured with lavish green oaks and scenery of extraordinary Himalayas. A little lake is present inside the fort. A Himachali fortress, just the pillars are standing today. Most of this fort is made of stone and pieces remaining.The fort offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and is a popular destination for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts. It remains closed on Sunday and Monday.
