Meanwhile, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE’s Minister of Economy, disclosed that the regional tourist visas will be named GCC Grand Tours which is a Schengen Like Visa for Gulf countries, allowing tourists to stay in the six GCC countries for more than 30 days. He emphasized that this move will make travel to the region more convenient and affordable.
After a sit-down at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Al Marri shared his thoughts. He said that once this system kicks in, it’ll shine a spotlight on the amazing tourism spots across GCC countries. This will draw in more tourists and keep them around for longer stays. Al-Marri is pretty sure this will boost the number of folks staying in hotels and put the region on the map as a top spot for both local and international travellers. Sounds like a plan to make GCC a tourist hotspot, doesn’t it?
In other news, Al Midfa talked about how the UAE and other Gulf countries are teaming up with big tourist companies to offer packages that let you explore the whole region. They’re chatting with hotels and airlines to team up and make this happen. Al Midfa stressed how the government and private companies are working hand in hand to make things easier for businesses. Plus, once the GCC single tourist Schengen Like Visa for Gulf countries kicks in, these companies will automatically offer bundled packages. It’s all about making travel smoother and more exciting for everyone involved!
Furthermore, as part of the GCC’s unified tourism plan, they’re working hard to extend visitors’ stays in the UAE. The aim is to encourage people to enjoy leisurely trips lasting 2-3 weeks by combining various packages across the GCC. They might need to coordinate for big events to make sure they don’t clash. Once the single tourist Schengen visa for Gulf countries is up and running, private companies will start offering packages for both leisure and business travel. It’s all about making the most of your time in the region!
Sarah Buhijji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, added that Bahrain is cooking up some exciting packages that let you explore the whole region. Imagine spending three nights soaking up the sights in Bahrain, then hopping over to Oman and Saudi Arabia for more adventures!
The goal is to showcase the entire region as one fantastic destination. Bahrain has even inked a deal with Saudi Arabia to promote them both as a joint hotspot, and they’re planning to do the same with other nearby countries. It’s all about making it easy for travellers to experience the best of the Gulf!
