The Icon of the seas is reportedly 1200 feet long and weighs a total of 250800 tonnes. The cruise was built in Turku, Finland, and it took a total of 900 days to complete this giant beast, which has a height that exceeds the height of the Eiffel Tower.
The ship can accommodate up to 8000 passengers, including 7600 guests along with 2350 crew members. This cruise ship has some of the record-breaking features which include 17000 square foot water park, which is currently the largest in the sea, the first cantilevered infinity pool, and also the largest ice arena at sea. Additionally, this giant ship also includes seven swimming pools, six water slides, an ice skating rink, and a theatre.
This monster ship has more than 40 dining venues, bars, largest orchestra with 50 musicians on board.
The Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO stated, “Icon of the Seas is the culmination of more than 50 years of dreaming, innovating and living our mission – to deliver the world’s best vacation experiences responsibly.”
The construction of this mammoth-sized ship cost a whopping amount of 2 Billion dollars, and it claims to be more eco-friendly than the smaller ships, and the features of this ship will make the passenger’s trip a memorable one.
