Cyclone Montha Updates : Cyclone Montha made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coastline on Tuesday, triggering widespread rainfall across multiple states in the region.
Weather officials from the India Meteorological Department have forecast light to moderate showers with possible thunderstorms in several areas.
Cyclone Montha began hitting land around 7 pm on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department confirmed. The weather department said the storm, which formed over the Bay of Bengal, is expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast near Kakinada, somewhere between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam.
The maximum speed of Cyclone Montha is 90 to 100 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 110 kmph.

Red Alert Issued as Heavy Rainfall Threatens Several Telangana Regions
Weather authorities have issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in eight districts, warning residents to expect thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at 40 to 50 kmph.
The Cyclone Montha affected areas include Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.
An orange alert has been declared for eight other districts where heavy rain is expected at some locations. These include Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Suryapet.
A yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate showers in select areas across eight districts. These include Nizamabad, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
Andhra Pradesh: Orange Alert Issued for Heavy Rainfall
Weather officials have issued an orange alert for Andhra Pradesh, warning of heavy downpours across 12 districts.
The Cyclone Montha affected areas include Prakasam, SPSR Nellore, Guntur, Palnadu, NTR, Bapatla, Krishna, West Godavari, Eluru, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Srikakulam, and Parvathipuram Manyam. Cyclone Montha in AP has already brought significant rainfall, with more expected in the coming days.

Bihar and Jharkhand: Both states will continue receiving rainfall through Thursday as Cyclone Montha's affected areas extend beyond the coastal regions.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim: Showers are forecast from October 30 through November 1.
Odisha: Rainfall expected on October 29. Cyclone Montha in Odisha has weakened but continues to bring wet conditions.
East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh: Rain is likely on October 29 and 30.
Gujarat: Light to moderate showers predicted until November 1.
The weather department warns of isolated very heavy rainfall over Marathwada, Saurashtra, and Kutch regions through October 31.
West Bengal: Three Days of Heavy Rain Expected
After Cyclone Montha weakened, weather forecasters predict three days of intense rainfall across West Bengal before conditions start improving from November 1.

October 29: Southern Bengal districts: South and North 24 Parganas, Purba and Paschim Medinipur, will experience light to moderate rain with some areas seeing heavier showers and gusty winds reaching up to 55 kilometers per hour.
October 30: The rain belt will shift inland toward Purulia, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Paschim Bardhaman as Montha-affected areas continue to expand.
October 31: Northern Bengal will see the heaviest rainfall, with very heavy downpours likely in Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar, Darjeeling, and Alipurduar. Yellow and orange alerts remain in effect for these districts.
