Laxapana Falls is in Sri Lanka’s Nuwara Eliya area and is a portion of the Maskeliya Oya, a tributary of the Kelani River.The falls are among the island’s biggest waterfalls, reaching a breathtaking height of about 413 feet.
Its name, which is a combination of the Sinhala words “laksha” (hundred thousand) and “pana” (cups), honors the innumerable water droplets that spill over the rocky edge, giving the impression of shimmering cups filled to the brim with liquid light.
