Unspoiled by mainstream tourists, this lovely valley provides a captivating combination of natural beauty, ancient history, and cordial hospitality. Lolab Valley, also known as ‘Wadi-e-Lolab’ by locals, translates to “land of love and beauty,” which perfectly describes this intriguing region.
Among these natural treasures is the peaceful Lolab Valley, a lesser-known but equally attractive location. Lolab Valley, sometimes overshadowed by Kashmir’s more popular tourist destinations, has a natural beauty and serenity that attracts travelers seeking both calm and adventure.
Lolab, which the Kashmir Valley borders to the south and the Neelum Valley to the north, has an oval shape, stretching around 24 kilometers in length and 4.8 kilometers in breadth.
The valley’s core is located at an elevation of around 5216 feet above sea level, providing a pleasant relief from the summer heat, and is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in Kashmir.
The majestic Lahwal River, which flows from east to west, carves its way through the valley, nourishing the soil and adding to its soothing beauty.
These evergreen havens are surrounded by orchards overflowing with apples, cherries, peaches, apricots, and walnuts, earning Lolab the well-deserved title of “the fruit bowl of Jammu and Kashmir.”
