The (NMML) is situated in the ancient Teen Murti Bhavan in New Delhi. Initially the home of the British Indian Army’s Commander-in-Chief, it later served as the former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru’s official residence after India gained independence. The museum and library were created to commemorate Nehru’s achievements and were officially opened in 1964, just a year after Nehru’s passing.
