Rani Kamlapati Palace history makes this place even more fascinating. In 1723, Queen Kamlapati ended her life by jumping into the lake. So, who was Queen Kamlapati? She was the wife of Nawal Shah, a big warlord from the Gond Tribe. Back in the day, Bhopal was Gond territory, and the palace offered a stunning view of both Upper Lake and Lower Lake. After her death, Sardar Dost took control of the palace. Today, the palace is managed by the Archaeological Survey of India and is a part of their office.
