Inside the palace grounds, you can see an old cannon and the remains of a watermill, known as a panchakki. To the west of the palace, there are the ruins of Fatehgarh Fort. This fort was constructed by Sardar Dost Mohammad, who played a key role in shaping modern Bhopal between 1708 and 1726.

Rani Kamlapati Palace is open throughout the year. Still, the best time to visit is during the cooler months from October to March. The summer months can be quite hot, while the monsoon season may bring heavy rains, which could affect travel plans.
