The best time to explore Taronga is from September to November —–springtime in Sydney. If not, either March or August. These months offer perfect weather for outdoor adventures, as the temperatures are cool and comfortable, and the humidity is low. 

  • Best Time To Visit Taronga Zoo – In A Day 

The best time to visit the zoo is early in the morning, as there won’t be many people and the weather will be nice. The animals will also be awake with full of energy. 

Taronga Zoo Timings 

  • Winter(May To August): 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day.
  • Summer(September To April): 9:30 AM to 5 PM every day.

The Taronga Zoo is right next to Sydney Harbour. You can get there easily from CBD. It is on Bradleys Head Road in Mosman.

How To Reach Taronga Zoo Sydney

By Ferry
  • Take a 12-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay; ferries leave every 30 minutes. 
  • You can also take boats from Darling Harbour, Manly, or Watsons Bay to reach the zoo. 

By Bus

  • Catch Bus 100 at the Queen Victoria Building to reach the zoo. 
  • Or, take Bus 238, which travels between Balmoral Beach, the Taronga Zoo, and the Taronga ferry wharf . 

By Train

  • Get down at Circular Quay Train Station and take a ferry ride to Taronga Zoo. 

By Taxi

  • From Sydney CBD to Taronga, it takes about 10 minutes.
