  • By Car: It is advisable that you take your own vehicle if you have any. You can head towards the east along the Talgar tract. Upon your arrival in Talgar, you can continue your journey South towards the left Talgar Gorge. Make sure you park your car outside the prohibited area.
  • By Taxi: You can hire a taxi from apps like Yandex and reach the place. The fare will depend upon the distance from where you are planning to start.
  • By Bus: Since no public transport is available, you have to either hire a taxi or take your own car.

  • Ile Alatau National Park: This National Park graces the slopes of the Ile Alatau Mountains to South Almaty. A part of this National Park extends within the boundary of Almaty itself. Distance from Almaty Nature Reserve is 31km.
  • Shymbulak Ski Resort: The Shymbulak Ski Resort is famous and a premier sight in Almaty probably due to its perfect ski conditions, drawing skiers from all across the world. Distance from Almaty Nature Reserve is 6.1 km. Skiing is one of the best things to do in Almaty Nature Reserve.
  • Kolsai Lakes: The Kolsai Lakes National Park is popular for its Kolsai Lake and the azure waters surrounding the coniferous forests. There are plenty of places to camp, and eat, so you don’t need to worry about it. Distance from Almaty Nature Reserve is 52.7 km.
  • Kairak Waterfall: This beautiful waterfall is located in the heart of the Ile Alatau Mountains, where you can find multiple waterfalls, but the Kairak Waterfalls stand the tallest among all of them, and probably one of the most beautiful falls, perfect for having a family picnic. Distance from Almaty Nature Reserve is 100 km.
  • Lake Issyk: You can visit Lake Issyk, which is sheltered by the Ile Alatau Mountains. The lake is believed to have been formed some 8 to 10 thousand years ago due to a rock collapse. Distance from Almaty Nature Reserve is 84 km, and sitting by the lake and treating your ears with the calm sound of water is one of the best things to do in Almaty Nature Reserve.
