Besides being a place for many devotees, Annapurna Temple is one of Indore’s tourist spots. It is at a distance of 6 km from Indore Junction.
The Temple was constructed in the 9th century and was rebuilt in 1959 by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Prabanandagirimharaj. The entrance stood on four elephants, which was erected in 1975.
This temple is spread across 2 acres and resembles the famous Meenakshi Temple of Madurai. The outside of the temple walls is picturized with images of gods and their legendaries, making it one of the best places to visit in Indore.
How to reach Annapurna Temple by air is not a question anymore for international tourists. The nearest airport to the temple is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport. There are domestic flights available and international flights open to tourists.
Government and Private Airline Services are available from Indore to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.
The Annapurna Temple is at a distance of 8.4 km from the international airport. You can commute by very convenient cab service or by local bus from the airport.
By Rail –
Indore Railway Station is well-connected to other places in the country. The nearest railway station is Lomanya Nagar Railway Station at a distance of 2 km from Annapurna Temple.
By Road –
You can also travel by road Bus and cab services are available, you can also drive by your vehicle or opt for a rickshaw. The roads are well connected to the other parts of the city.

The entrance of Shree Annapurna Temple Indore is constructed in accordance with the southern India Architecture on the back of four elephants. Inside the temple, you would see the idols of Maa Annapurna, Maa Kali, and Maa Saraswati carved from white marble.
The Annapurna temple is built with Makrana Marble. Craftsmen of Rajasthan who built the Annapurna temple at Trimbakeshwar Nashik of Maharashtra. On the pillars, different gods and goddesses are sculptured. There are also 64 Yoginis carved out on the pillars of Annapurna Temple. The temple walls and pillars are carved with different sculptures and designs. Outside Annapurna temple, has a temple of Lord Shiv and Kaalbharav. At the entrance of the temple, they have a beautiful sculpture of Shree Krishna and Radha Rani.
The temple also has a cowshed and Vedshala (An observatory where you study stars in the sky).
The Annapurna Temple opens at 6 am and closes by 11 pm every day.
