Goa Carnival is celebrated every year but not everyone knows why it began in the first place. The concept was initiated by the Portuguese, who were responsible for colonising Goa for about 450 years.
During the 18th century, the carnival was only celebrated since the 18th century only by the Catholics. However, now it has been transformed into a multi-cultural event, attracting tourists from all across the world including people from Europe, and Africa.
