Goa Shri Maruti Temple situated at the Fontainhas hillock has a long-status record behind its presence. According to the sources, The Marutiraya Sansthan of Mala is sort of 80 years old and is one of the most stunning temples that exists in Goa, located amidst the panoramic surroundings on the top of the hill.

Originally the Goa Shri Maruti Temple of Mala was small, but the shape that exists nowadays was changed by the new temple committee in the year 1980.

Although the primary fairs at this temple are Navaratri and Chaitra Purnima, Hanuman Jayanti, Ram Navami, and all of the Saturdays within the holy Hindu month of Shravan mas. 

There is a lot of history about Maruti Temple in Goa, starting with its supreme festival that is organized in the temple, which is called Maruti Jatrotsav. It is one of the largest festivals celebrated here.

Originally, this day is celebrated by carrying a palanquin parade of the deity, inside the precinct of the temple. However, to extend this festival, the parade moved from the temple to Mala, Panaji, up to Vitthal and Rukmini Temple and further took a flip at the place near People’s High School, to return.
