CrowdStrike, a cyber-security company, has admitted that the problem was caused by an update to their antivirus software, which is meant to protect computers using Microsoft Windows. Microsoft is now working to fix the remaining effects of the outage. As the situation continues, travellers should expect ongoing delays and possible flight cancellations.
CrowdStrike’s CEO, George Kurtz, explained that the problem came from a flaw in their latest software update. While the exact cause hasn’t been fully explained.
“This is not a security incident or cyber-attack”.
“The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed”. He said.
