Just 10 km from NH 44 at Kongong and 25 km from both Jowai and Khliehriat, Moopun is easy to reach. From the PWD road, it’s a short 300-meter walk to the top of this beautiful waterfall in Meghalaya, and just a 5-minute stroll from parking to the base, with only 3 more minutes to reach the unique Stone Bridge.
The Moopun waterfalls in Meghalaya falls from a height of 110 feet and spreads 50 feet wide, dropping into crystal-clear waters on the sandy beach below before continuing peacefully to the Myntdu River. One special feature of Moopun Falls is the rare pitcher plants, similar to those found at Jarain Pitcher Plant Lake, that grow beautifully among the rocks.
Visitors can reach Moopun Falls on a smooth road from NH 44 that passes through the villages of Pynthorsale and Mukhaialong. This scenic waterfall along the Umjhai River is a perfect spot for relaxing, exploring, and creating lasting memories in the natural beauty of the East Jaintia Hills.
