About the Palaruvi Waterfall

At a height of 300 feet, Palaruvi Waterfall is one of the most celebrated waterfalls in the area. Not only because of its height but also the name has its meaning. ‘Palaruvi’ is a mixture of two Malayalam words i.e., ‘Pal’ which means milk and ‘aruvi’ stands for ‘stream’. This also gives another name to this waterfall ‘stream of milk’ as it gives an illusion of cascading white waters. It is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna which will not only be mesmerizing but also help you to stay in good health. It is said that the water of this waterfall contains Ayurvedic and herbal qualities which come from direct contact with the greenery. People from all over the world come here to take a dip in this herbal water in the hope of improving health. Fees

The entry to the Palaruvi Waterfall is chargeable. If you are an adult (someone who is over 18 years old) then the Palaruvi Waterfall entry fee is ₹70 whereas for children this amount is ₹30. For foreigners, the amount of the entry ticket is ₹200. 

Timings

The timings of Palaruvi Waterfall are 8 AM to 5 PM on all days. You can plan your trip to the Palaruvi Waterfalls Kerala anytime from the given time with friends and family.

How to reach 

If you are wondering how to reach Palaruvi Waterfall, then there are multiple ways through which you can reach the destination. 

  • By Rail: The nearest railway station is Kollam Railway Station which is 75 KM away from the waterfall. It takes around 2 hours and 18 minutes to cover this distance. Once you reach the station you can book a taxi or bus to reach the Palaruvi Waterfall in Kerala
  • By Road: You can hire a taxi or ride a cab from Kollam which is around 80 KM away and take 1 hour and 17 minutes to cover this distance. 
  • By Bus: There is a bus every 20 minutes from the Kollam to this waterfall which will drop you at the Attingal in 43 minutes. Once you reach there you can hire a cab or rent a car to cover 74.2 km which will take around an hour and 9 minutes. 
  • By Air: Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport to the Palaruvi Waterfall in Kerala. The airport is around 90 km away which takes 2 hours and 38 minutes to cover this distance.

Best Time to Visit
