Sikkim: World’s First Organic State, has a dream landscape with its own unique beauty. From preserved nature to cleanliness, this tiny state is bordered by Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. Sikkim beats 51 other nominations from around the world and won the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s (FAO) Future Policy Gold Award to become the first organic state in India. The state’s policies have resulted in becoming 100% organic. While receiving the award, Chief Minister, Pawan Kumar Chamling said: “It was necessary to involve the youth in the organic mission, so that they will be able to educate farmers and develop marketing strategies to help the economy”.
