The latest news has come regarding Agra’s New Marvel—A New Mausoleum has been built in honour of Param Purush Pooran Dhani Swamiji Maharaj, the founder of the Radha Soami faith. This impressive structure is named the “Soami Bagh Mausoleum.”

Located in the Soami Bagh colony in Agra’s Dayalbagh area, Agra’s new marvel has been built. Unlike the Taj Mahal, which took 22 years to complete with the efforts of many skilled workers under a strict 17th-century administration, the Soami Bagh mausoleum took over a century to build in an open society. Pramod Kumar, a devoted follower, explained that the long construction period reflects the creator’s deep faith, passion, and commitment, driven by their religious beliefs.

The mausoleum stands 193 feet tall and is built entirely from white marble from Makrana in Rajasthan. It is one of India’s grandest projects. Soami Bagh Mausoleum is dedicated to Param Purush Pooran Dhani Swamiji Maharaj, the founder of the Radha Soami faith, and is located in the Soami Bagh colony in Agra’s Dayalbagh area. It has significantly grabbed many tourist’s attention, and many of them are comparing it with the iconic Taj Mahal, calling it the Taj Mahal’s Competition.

The mausoleum’s architecture doesn’t follow a specific style. It is neither purely modern nor traditional but has an East-Asian or oriental essence. The design blends various styles and stands taller than the Taj Mahal.

The 31.4-foot gold-plated pinnacle, taller than the Taj Mahal’s, took years to complete. Marble comes from Makrana, Jodhpur, and other sources, but finding high-quality marble was tough due to labour shortages.

The Soami Bagh Mausoleum is where many people follow the Radha Soami faith. This faith has lots of followers in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka, and other countries too.

The original samadh was a simple white sandstone structure. In 1904, an architect from Allahabad began a new design. Despite delays, workers have been labouring since 1922, mostly by hand, on the complex construction. Artisans continue traditional craftsmanship, even using modern machines.

While the Taj Mahal is famous for its beauty, spiritually inclined people often visit the Soami Bagh Mausoleum.

I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
