The Ganga Pushkaralu Festival takes place after every twelve years in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and is going to be held on 22nd April this year. The government has decided to launch special trains from Varanasi to Visakhapatnam for this 12-day festival. The train will leave from Varanasi on 19th April and 26th April, and the return journey will be on 20th April and 27th April. Devotees take dips in the river Ganges as it is believed that one can take dips in the holy river and get rid of his/her sins and gain blessings from God. Several rituals and practices include devotional music, chanting hymns and cultural activities.
