For a die-hard solo traveller like me who disobeys travel restrictions, Spiti Valley is bliss. And WanderOn Travel company is just a cherry on top. I’m so happy to choose this company and the fantastic Summer Spiti Package. I can’t believe it when I say I have zero complaints about the trip.

Due to unforeseen weather conditions, we had to change the itinerary twice, but still, every place was a wonderful experience. Every day bought something new.

I was not expecting to meet like-minded travellers this time because I had no time to communicate with the people before the trip. I was so exhausted from the everyday overload that I needed rejuvenation.

The reason behind choosing Spiti tour packages with WanderOn was the amazingly crafted itinerary. They covered all the places and still managed to be cost-effective.

A Journey to Remember: My 5 Nights/6 Days Summer Spiti

Inspired by the serenity I found in the Dhankar monastery, I ventured deeper into the Pin Valley. I hiked along the winding trails with a group of few travellers, surrounded by meadows adorned with wildflowers, and listened to the whispers of the breeze through the pine trees. With each step, my connection with nature grew stronger, and the world’s chaos seemed to fade away.

Exploring the Authenticity of Spiti Valley

I prefer beaches over mountains due to altitude sickness. But choosing to travel with WanderOn was a wise decision. They already knew about people’s difficulties due to weather adversities and altitude sickness. Hence they were prepared well! They gave us medicines every morning, so our bodies were not even on the verge of getting sick. I felt so good and cared for on the trip due to reasons like this.

The mountains seemed fresh, like they were constructed by the best architects with fresh texture and paint. I loved every bit of them. They were so beautiful and lively. The people were so good to travel with. It felt like each one of us has met each other before. The people in the groups were also very welcoming and warm. It was lovely to spend time with them.

Our camps were at such a beautiful location which chilly winds outside but warmth inside. The food was so good and well cooked, making the trip completely satisfactory.

There were kids from the local families whom I started talking to. It was so great to interact with people, and they were utterly unaware of mobile games or social media.

I felt so good spending time with the people in the network zone, knowing their stories and understanding their lifestyles.

Chandratal Lake – Reflection of Heaven

Perched at 4,300 meters in the mesmerising Spiti Valley, Chandratal Lake, known as the “Moon Lake,” beckons adventurous souls with its ethereal beauty. I set foot on the sacred grounds surrounding the lake, ready to embark on a transformative experience.

As I approached the lake, the first rays of the morning sun kissed the surrounding peaks, casting a golden glow upon the pristine waters. I stood in awe of the breathtaking panorama that unfolded before my eyes. The lake, like a shimmering mirror, reflected the snow-capped mountains and the vibrant blue sky, creating a surreal and captivating sight.

I couldn’t resist the allure of Chandratal and decided to lie down on the shore. As the day wore on, I explored the surroundings, venturing along the winding trails that hugged the lake. The air was crisp and filled with the fragrance of wildflowers while the gentle breeze whispered tales of ancient legends.  The lake’s surface transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours, mirroring the fiery hues of the setting sun. The mountains stood tall, silhouetted against the vibrant sky, and the entire landscape exuded a sense of mystical tranquillity.

Nightfall brought a canopy of stars, twinkling above like diamonds scattered across the velvet sky. I gazed at the celestial display, feeling a profound connection with the universe.

I feel my heart is still there on the shore of Chandratal Lake. The experience was just so beautiful.

The Experience I’ll Always Cherish

I witnessed snowfall on the way to Kaza to reach Manali. It was so beautiful. I had my “ Ye ishq haaye, baithe bithaaye, jannat dikhaye haan” moment. These are the days that make me feel worthy of living.

I was born and raised in a bustling city and never experienced the magic of snowfall. I’ve heard tales of its enchantment but had only seen images and videos.

As we passed the tunnel from Kaza, I was greeted by the towering peaks and the crisp mountain air. The locals had whispered about an impending snowfall, and my anticipation grew with each passing moment. I knew that my long-awaited dream was about to become a reality.

The day I arrived when I witnessed the snowflakes gently cascading from the heavens, painting the landscape in a delicate white. My eyes widened in awe as I stepped outside and felt the soft, icy touch of the snowflakes on my face. I saw the wonder as the snow covered the rooftops, trees, and streets, transforming the town into a winter wonderland.

I couldn’t contain my excitement and joined the locals in their joyous celebration. Laughter filled the air as children built snowmen, engaged in friendly snowball fights, and revelled in the purity of the moment. The entire town seemed alive with a newfound sense of magic and camaraderie.

Walking through the snow-covered streets of Kaza, I felt a sense of tranquillity wash over me. The world seemed hushed as if nature had paused to admire its ethereal creation. I marvelled at the way the snowflakes glistened under the streetlights, each one a unique and intricate work of art.

Every corner seemed like a picture-perfect postcard, with the snow-covered valleys and frozen streams reflecting the sunlight with a gentle shimmer.

Time seemed to stand still as I absorbed the breathtaking scene, etching it deep into my memory. It wasn’t merely frozen water falling from the sky; it was a magical transformation that brought joy, unity and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of nature. I realised that sometimes, the most extraordinary experiences could be found in the most precise and purest moments of life.

I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
