Door To Hell, Turkmenistan

The Darvaza gas crater which is famously known as Door to Hell or Gates of Hell is located in Derweze, Turkmenistan. It is basically a natural gas field that collapsed into a cavern which was set on fire by geologists to prevent the spread of methane gas and has never stopped burning since 1971.

Lake Natron, Tanzania

Lake Natron is a soda lake located in the Arusha Region of Northern Tanzania bordering Kenya. Through calcification, animals that die in the lake turn into statues as the presence of sodium bicarbonate is high. Due to its high composition of alkaline, the lake looks red in color and gives fame to it as the ‘Petrifying Lake’.

The magnificent bridge of Die Rakotzbruck is famous for its accurate construction. The reflection of the bridge on the water forms a perfect and complete circle along with the actual bridge. The unusual stone monument is also called the ‘Devil’s bridge’ due to its distinguishing characteristic and is a must visit in order to experience its spookiness.

Bone Church, Czech Republic

The Sedlec Ossuary which is located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints is a cramped Roman Catholic chapel and is a part of the Sedlec Abbey in Sedlec. The unique aspect of the chapel is that there are more than 40000 skeletons of human beings displayed in the interior of the church. These have been portrayed as art work which gives a creepy vibe to the visitors of the chapel.

Slope Point, New Zealand

Slope Point is known to be the south island’s southernmost point of New Zealand. The trees that grow here are permanently tilted due to the heavy blows of Antarctic gusts. Sheep farming is practiced in the area and there are no houses present at the place. The place is one of the windiest places in the world so make sure to grab tight to something heavy on your visit.

Deadvlei, Namibia

The mysterious Deadvlei is a white pan in Namibia which is located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei. The meaning of Deadvlei is dead marsh and is also alternately called Dooie vlei. It is basically a dried up oasis and due to lack of water the roots of the dead trees have come out of the surface. The place is known to be surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world and this could add this place to the list of weirdest places across the world.

Magnetic Hill, Ladakh

The mighty cyclops hill located near Leh, Ladakh is famous for its slopes creating an optical illusion of a hill. During your trip here, you might feel like you are rolling uphill while you are rolling downhill the whole time in defiance of gravity. A magnificent place to visit for mountain lovers and not to be skipped. Sounds exciting right? Khonoma Village Nagaland, India

Christ of the Abyss, Italy

Christ of the Abyss is a 2.50 metre statue located underwater in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a popular spot for divers and the statue is made up of bronze. If you ever go under to see the statue, don’t be surprised to see Jesus Christ in the bottom of the ocean.
