Overview & Highlights

Chandigarh – Narkanda - Chitkul – Nako – Tabo – Dhankar – Mudh Village – Kaza – Gue – Kalpa – Shimla – Chandigarh
  • There’s something about Spiti that feels completely different from anywhere else in Himachal. The further you travel, the quieter everything gets. The roads become rougher, the mountains taller, and the landscapes more unreal with every passing turn.

  • This 9-day Spiti road trip takes you through some of the most remote and breathtaking parts of the Himalayas. It begins with the greener side of Himachal through Narkanda, Sangla, and Rakcham, where pine forests, rivers, and apple orchards still surround the roads. But as you move deeper towards Chitkul and enter Spiti Valley, the scenery changes dramatically into barren mountains, winding roads, ancient monasteries, and vast cold desert landscapes.

  • You’ll explore iconic places like Key Monastery, Chicham Bridge, Hikkim, Komic, Langza, and the peaceful villages of Tabo and Mudh hidden within Pin Valley. From sending postcards at the world’s highest post office to spotting fossils in Langza, every day here feels completely different from the last.

  • What makes this journey even more memorable is the route itself. Crossing Khab Sangam, visiting the mysterious mummy village of Gue, and watching the landscapes slowly shift from Spiti’s rugged terrain to the greener valleys of Kalpa and Shimla make the entire trip feel like a constantly changing Himalayan experience.
