Visit the amazing UNESCO Heritage sites in the Ninh Binh province as they are a combination of both heritage and natural landscapes. The heritage sites include the pretty royal buildings, palaces, citadels and temples of Hoa Lu which was the ancient capital of Vietnam. Feel like entering into a fantasy world as you venture into the “Halong Bay on Land” - the Tam Coc caves which are carved into the karst mountains, lined with lush green paddy fields and the meandering Ngo Dong river.

Your North Vietnam trip is incomplete without your visit to the stunning archipelagos of Halong Bay - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just off the shores of the northeastern coastline. Spend a night cruising in the azure waters and exploring the several small islets, beaches, caves, amazing rock formations, etc. Satiate the adventurer in you by swimming and kayaking in the vast ocean at the bay, giving you a lifetime of memories to cherish.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Hanoi. Half-day city tour of Hanoi.

As you arrive in Hanoi, our local tour guide warmly greets you and escorts you to your downtown hotel.

In the afternoon, we'll take you to the vibrant Ba Dinh Square, where you can witness some of the biggest cultural and political events in the city.

Our first stop will be the Complex of Ho Chi Minh, which includes the iconic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house-on-stilts, fishpond, and the One-Pillar Pagoda.

Next, we'll visit the Temple of Literature, which is widely considered the first university in Vietnam.

To give you an overall view of the city, we'll take you on a 1-hour cyclo ride around the historic Old Quarter of Hanoi and the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as the "Sword" Lake.

As you wander through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, you'll get a glimpse of the daily life of the local people.

At the end of the day, we'll transfer you back to your hotel.

Night activities suggestion: For your night activities, we suggest visiting Ta Hien Streets to enjoy local beer while listening to live music and immersing yourself in the lively atmosphere with young people and tourists alike. Alternatively, you can explore the hundred bars and pubs in the Old Quarter, or indulge in some shopping at the various boutique shops and malls.

Day 2

Full Day Tour To Ninh Binh – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before embarking on an exciting journey to Ninh Binh, which is located 90 km south of Hanoi.

Ninh Binh was once the capital city of ancient Vietnam before Hanoi took over in the 11th century. The area is renowned for its stunning landscapes, which include the Tam Coc Caves and the Hoa Lu ancient capital, featuring old temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le who reigned in the 10th century.

Our visit to Ninh Binh will begin with a boat trip in Tam Coc, where you can marvel at the spectacular limestone karsts that rise from the lush green paddy fields, creating a scenery similar to Guilin in China and Halong Bay in Vietnam. This scenery has earned the nickname "Halong-bay-on-land".

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we'll continue our discovery of Ninh Binh by visiting the Bich Dong Pagoda.

On our way back to Hanoi in the afternoon, we'll make a stop to visit Hoa Lu, a site that used to be the kings' palace in the 10th century and is now famous for its wooden reliefs in the shady Dinh and Le temples.

After the exciting day, come back to your comfortable hotel rooms and call it a night.

Day 3

Day tour from Hanoi to Hanlong. Overnight Cruise.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel.

Get ready, we will begin our journey towards Halong Bay, located in the Gulf of Tonkin.

We will witness a Natural World Heritage site, designated by UNESCO in 1994 and 2006.

Enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive that will take you through the beautiful Red River delta, with its lush green paddy fields and charming rural villages.

You'll see hard-working farmers going about their daily farming routines, from ploughing buffaloes to planting seedlings.

Upon arrival in Halong, check in to your overnight cruise to experience the breathtaking beauty of this "Descending-dragon" bay, formed by thousands of odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes.

After a mouthwatering lunch on board, we'll take you on a tour of the Grottos, where you can swim, kayak, and approach islets to enjoy their beauty up close.

Later, enjoy a cooking demonstration before dinner. Evening activities on the boat are available, or you can relax at your own leisure.

Spend the night on the cruise, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the stunning Halong Bay.

Day 4

Transfer from Halong Bay to Hanoi. Admire the Halong Bay beauty.

Rise and shine early to witness the beauty of dawn on the sea.

The Vietnamese call the East Sea the "Eastern Sea," and you'll be amazed to see the sunrise over the islets of the Bay.

After breakfast, we'll continue our cruise through the magnificent areas of Halong Bay, where each islet has its own name, based on its shape or reminiscent features.

You'll get to see famous landmarks like Sail Island, Fisherman's Head Rock, Butterfly Rock, and Turtle Islet, among others.

As the cruise comes to an end, check out your room and enjoy a delicious brunch on board before heading back to the pier.

Disembark from the cruise and we'll transfer you back to Hanoi, where you'll check in to your hotel.

You'll have some free time to enjoy at your leisure before spending the night in Hanoi.

You can explore the cafes or go for the local shopping souvenirs.

Come back to the hotels and call it a night.

Day 5

Departure. Return with a bag of memories.

Rise and shine with a delicious breakfast at our hotel.

As your memorable journey with us comes to an end, it's time to check out and bid farewell to Hanoi.

You are free until transfer to the airport (no guide) for departure flight.

We'll provide a comfortable transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
