8-Day Sri Lanka Community Trip: New Year Edition

Wake up early for an exciting trek to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, known for its historical and archaeological significance.

Climb up this 5th century rock fortress perched on top of a rock with frescoes and royal gardens.

The fortress is often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World” for its archaeological and historical significance.

After the trek, return to the hotel for breakfast and check-out.

On the way to Nuwara Eliya, stop at Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site, home to many statues of Buddha and beautiful murals.

Continue the journey towards Nuwara Eliya through Sri Lanka’s scenic hill country.

En route, visit a tea plantation and tea factory, where you can learn about the tea-making process and enjoy freshly brewed Ceylon tea.

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour around the city, often referred to as “Little England” because of its colonial charm and scenic surroundings.

Visit the beautiful Gregory Lake, a popular lakeside attraction surrounded by green hills and gardens.

Spend some time exploring the nearby city attractions, local markets, and colonial-style buildings around the town.

Later, we will begin the scenic drive towards Ella, one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful hill destinations.

Upon arrival in Ella, check-in to your hotel and relax after the journey.

After breakfast, get ready for a day filled with sightseeing and scenic experiences.

We will begin by visiting Little Adam’s Peak, a popular viewpoint known for its easy hike and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Next, head towards the famous Nine Arches Bridge, a stunning colonial-era railway bridge surrounded by dense greenery and tea gardens.

Continue the sightseeing tour with a visit to Ravana Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s widest falls with a whooping height of 100ft.

After a day of sightseeing and relaxation, return to the hotel in Ella.

Check out and begin your journey to Mirissa, a beautiful beach town on the southern coast.

Continue the drive to Mirissa, known for its scenic beaches and seasonal whale watching.

Upon arrival in Mirissa, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the beach.

In the evening, visit Coconut Tree Hill, one of the most famous viewpoints in the region.

Return to the hotel after the visit and rest for the night.

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day at leisure and spend time exploring the beach town at your own pace.

Post lunch, we will head to Galle, a city rich in history that beautifully blends European architecture with South Asian traditions.

Explore the Galle Dutch Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walk along the fort’s ramparts, and visit its quaint streets filled with charming boutiques and cafes.

In the evening, return to Mirissa and spend the rest of the evening relaxing by the sea.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Colombo, the bustling capital of Sri Lanka.

En route, enjoy an exciting boat safari experience in Bentota, known for its peaceful backwaters and lush mangrove forests.

Cruise through the scenic waterways while spotting small islands, tropical greenery, local village life, and different species of birds along the river.

You may also come across traditional fishing boats, mangrove tunnels, and monitor lizards during the safari.

After the experience, continue the drive towards Colombo.

Upon arrival in Colombo, check in to your hotel and relax.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring the local shopping areas or enjoying the city’s diverse cuisine.
