Architecture Of Ahar Cenotaphs

blog-images
The architecture of the Ahar Cenotaphs looks impressive because they were built to show how brave and great the Mewar kings were. People come here to show respect to these strong rulers. In this area, there are tombs for 19 different kings.

The Ahar Cenotaphs are beautiful old tombs for kings. They have curved roofs and pretty pillars on high platforms. The ceilings are decorated nicely too. These tombs were built to look like temples from the 15th century.

When you go inside the tombs, you’ll see interesting carvings on tall stones. These carvings tell a story about the past. They show God Shiva, the king (called Maharana), and the king’s wives. The wives are called Satis in the pictures.

This reminds us of an old custom where some queens chose to die in the same fire as their dead husbands.

These carvings give us a glimpse into the lives and beliefs of the royal families from that time. At Ahar, there are many special tombs for different kings. The most interesting one is for Maharana Amar Singh. Other kings like Fateh Singh, Swaroop Singh, and Bhagwat Singh also have their own tombs.

These tombs are made of smooth, white marble. They look really beautiful because they are covered with fancy carvings.

Best Time To Visit Ahar Cenotaphs

The best time to go to Ahar Cenotaphs is from October to March when it’s cooler. Don’t go from mid-March to June because it is way too hot. Also, avoid July to September because it is very wet and sticky. These times make visiting Udaipur uncomfortable.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
