How To Reach Ambient Cafe Thimphu?

• By Airways: From major cities in India like Delhi and Kolkata you can take a flight to Paro International Airport in Bhutan. Once you land in Paro, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Thimphu (48 km), which is about a 1 to 1.5-hour drive from the airport. Ambient Cafe is located in the heart of Thimphu, so you can easily reach it by taxi or on foot from the city center.

• By Railways: Unfortunately, there are no direct railway connections to Bhutan from India. The nearest railway station to Thimphu is Hasimara, West Bengal, which is approximately 170 kilometers away. Many also prefer to travel to New Jalpaiguri as it has better connectivity from other parts of India. From Hasimara or New Jalpaiguri, you can take a taxi or bus to Jaigaon, which is on the India-Bhutan border. Once you reach Jaigaon, you can cross the border on foot or by car and then take a taxi or bus to Thimphu.

• By Roadways: You can travel to Phuentsholing, the border town in Bhutan, from Indian cities like Siliguri or Bagdogra in West Bengal. From Phuentsholing, you can take a taxi or bus to Thimphu, which is approximately a 6 to 7-hour drive. Once you arrive in the city, you can easily reach the cafe located in the city center.
