3000 artists, over 1200 events, across 300+ venues , all happening simultaneously at clubs, warehouses, theaters, museums, canal-side spaces. Imagine walking out of one warehouse at 4 AM and stepping into another venue five blocks away. This is the Amsterdam Dance Event, taking place from October 21-25, 2026.

For five days, Amsterdam doesn't sleep. The city transforms into one massive interconnected electronic music festival. Nothing is confined to a single stage. Everything pulses at once. Clubs explode. Warehouses roar. Museums host afterparties. The whole city moves to the same rhythm.

Since 1996, ADE has evolved into the world's largest electronic music festival. Major brands are here hunting for emerging artists. DJs play career-defining sets. Producers collaborate with artists they've only dreamed of meeting. Whether electronic music is already your passion or you're just curious, ADE is where it all happens.

Many travelers extend their trip as a part of broader Europe tour packages—combining ADE with Paris, Berlin, or other cities. Some arrive early to explore Europe, then land in Amsterdam for these five days. In either case, ADE Amsterdam is the main event, and you can explore Europe around it.

What is Amsterdam Dance Event?

ADE

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the world's largest electronic music festival and conference — but unlike most festivals, it doesn't happen at one venue. Taking place from October 21 to 25, 2026, in its 30th anniversary edition, the whole city becomes the festival: clubs, concert halls, theaters, warehouses, and museums all host electronic music across five days and nights.

ADE started back in 1996. It's grown into the world's biggest electronic music festival. It's also a major conference where the industry gathers. Musicians show up. Labels, promoters, tech companies, fans—people come from everywhere.

What makes ADE interesting is it's not just nightclubs. Here's what to expect:

Planning Your Trip to ADE Amsterdam

Amsterdam Dance Event

Traveling from India to ADE Amsterdam for Amsterdam Dance Event 2026 involves more than just getting tickets. You need flights, a visa, accommodation, and a transport plan. Each piece affects how easily you move between venues across the city.

Schengen Visa

Indian travelers need a Schengen visa for the Netherlands. Apply through VFS Global centers in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, or New Delhi.

Cost: €90 plus service charges. Processing time varies. Apply within 6-8 weeks of your travel date.

Flights from India to Amsterdam

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol handles direct flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Hyderabad connections exist but require a layover.

Nonstop flights take 9-10 hours. Connecting flights through Europe or the Middle East cost less but add 4-6 hours. If you're coming specifically for the five days of Amsterdam Dance Event 2026, a nonstop flight makes sense.

Flying Time Comparison

  1. New Delhi: 9 hours nonstop
  2. Mumbai: 9-10 hours nonstop
  3. Bengaluru: 10 hours nonstop
  4. Hyderabad: 10 hours nonstop

ADE runs October 21-25, 2026. Arrive a day early to recover from the flight and avoid delays.

Getting from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam City Center

Amsterdam City Centre Airport
  • The railway station sits directly below Schiphol Airport terminals. NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) trains depart every 10-15 minutes for Amsterdam Centraal Station.
  • The journey takes about 14-17 minutes. You'll pay €5.70 for a single ticket or use your OVpay card to check in and out.
  • Trains run early morning through late night. For very late arrivals, night buses operate from the airport, but the train is faster and more reliable.
  • Once at Centraal Station, you're in Amsterdam city center. Most accommodation is walkable from here, or take a tram to your hotel.

Where to Stay in Amsterdam

ADE Amsterdam events happen across the entire city, not one venue. Pick accommodation based on which venues matter to you.

  • Centrum — Walking distance to central venues, restaurants, sightseeing. Good for first-timers.
  • Noord — Useful for NDSM warehouse events and north side venues. Festival-focused travelers like this area.
  • Westerpark — Good for western Amsterdam events and transport.
  • De Pijp — Mix of nightlife, restaurants, public transport. Combines ADE with city exploration.

Cheap accommodation far from venues costs you in late-night transport. Choose location first, price second.

Getting Around During ADE

Events are spread across the city. You'll be moving between venues constantly. Plan transport before assuming everything is walkable. Amsterdam's public transport (GVB) works the same for all visitors. You're not charged differently as an Indian traveler.

Daytime Transport Costs (2026)

  • 1-hour ticket: €3.40
  • Day ticket: €10 (unlimited one day)
  • 5-day ticket: €34 (multiple days)
  • Airport + 3-day Amsterdam ticket: €34

Night Travel (After Midnight)

  • Single night bus journey: €5.70
  • Night buses run hourly between major venues and residential areas

Pro Tips:

  1. For ADE, the 5-day pass makes sense. You'll be moving between venues constantly. The pass covers metros, trams, regular buses, and ferries. Just tap your contactless card or phone at entry/exit gates.
  2. Night buses are crucial during ADE because clubs close at different times. You might leave a 3 AM warehouse event and take a night bus back to your hotel.
  3. You can also use contactless card or phone payment (OVpay) to check in and out. Ferries to Noord are free for foot traffic.
  4. If two venues are kilometers apart, leave extra time between events for travel, entry queues, and security checks. A party in Amsterdam means moving around a lot.
