The Auto World Vintage Car Museum was founded by Late Pranlal Bhogilal (1937-2011). From his teenage, he was fond of collecting not only cars but also art, artefacts, and jewellery from the royal families of India. 

He was so fond of his car collection that when Ulrich Schmid-Maybach of the Maybach family flew to Ahemadabad from Germany to buy his 6-cylinder Maybach which was designed by his grandfather, he refused to part his from his treasure.

The Auto World Vintage Car Museum is in the private estate of the late Pranlal Bhogilal known as Dastan. The estate is spread across 2200 acres. In 1987 the Museum earned the Guinness Book Of World Records as the owner of the world’s largest garage.

Auto World Vintage Car Museum: Today

It is estimated that Pranlal Bhogilal had a collection of over 200 cars out of which 36 were Rolls Royce. This Museum has a collection of more than 100 vintage cars and bikes. 

Pranlal Bhogilal used to name their cars. One such car was the 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I which was named ‘Azad’ after painting in the color of Indian Flag. Some of the other vintage cars were called Darya-I-Noor, Durga, Chamunda, Chetak, Shahenshah, Pushpak, Caesar, Cleopatra, etc. The bonnet of the car bears the nameplate on it. Many other cars are painted with different colours. 

Other Rolls-Royces displayed at Auto World are a 1923 Silver Ghost, a 1927 Phantom I with a limousine body by Windovers, a 1936 Phantom III, a 1937 Phantom III, and a 1949 Rolls-Royce. An interesting one is the 1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost with a Victoria State Landau body that also has gas lamps on the side.

Well, not just Rolls-Royse but Maybach, Packards, Cadillacs, Mercedes, Lincolns, and many more are also available in the museum.

The museum also has an auditorium, a small play zone for the kids at the entrance, and a small cafeteria on the premises.
