Severe flooding in Vikravandi forced Southern Railway to suspend train services, including Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express. Additionally, rising waters submerged a critical bridge connecting Vikravandi and Mundiyampakkam, blocking key routes between northern, central, and southern Tamil Nadu.
After making landfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Cyclone Fengal has weakened and is moving west-northwest. Heavy rains are expected in the coastal and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh.
Districts of Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Chamarajanagara, and Mysuru declared a holiday on December 2, 2024.
