The Expressway is 29km long and the total expenditure in constructing the Expressway is INR 4100 Crore. The Expressway features tunnels, flyovers, and Underpasses, all aimed at controlling the traffic flow between Gurugram and Delhi.
Covering 18.9 km in Haryana and 10.1 km in Delhi, the Dwarka Expressway is expected to improve the commuting experience for individuals in the region by reducing travel time by 20 minutes, eventually leading to enhanced connectivity.
The design of the 8-lane expressway offers dual benefits by allowing broader service roads and accommodating the city’s high traffic. The highway prohibits any development of shops or houses.
The Highway connects Indra Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 with a 2.3km tunnel, linking Terminal 3 to Mahipalpur. An interesting fact about the tunnel is that the 500 m segment of the tunnel is blastproof.
