Galboda Falls is a hidden gem that is just waiting to be found in Sri Lanka’s lush hills. A haven of peace and beauty, this natural treasure is far from the busy city life.

Come with me as we explore the enchanted charm of Galboda Falls, where the sound of the cascading waterfalls combines with the peace of the natural world. Consider including it in your Sri Lanka tour packages.

“Galboda Ella” means “Galboda Waterfall” in English, accurately characterizing the breathtaking natural feature that awaits the tourists.

The Galboda River, which forms the source of the falls, glides smoothly through the natural landscape before cascading over the cliff edge, resulting in a breathtaking display of the beauty and strength of nature.

A Natural Wonder:

Galboda Falls, located in Sri Lanka’s Kandy province, is popular for its serene atmosphere and lovely surroundings. The waterfall, surrounded by tall trees and rich greenery, serves as a retreat for a variety of plants and animals that survive in their pure habitat making it one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka.

This natural wonderland is enhanced by the melodies of chirping birds and rustling leaves, inviting tourists to lose themselves in its peace.

Galboda Falls is proof of the breathtaking beauty and power of the natural world. The waterfall creates a sensory-pleasing display of falling water as it cascades smoothly down a sequence of marble rocks. The water creates a mist as it falls into the pool below, adding to the surreal atmosphere of the scene.

How to reach Golboda Falls?

Galboda Ella Falls is situated approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Kandy. The most common way to reach the waterfall is by road.

Visitors can hire a taxi or rent a car from Kandy and follow the scenic route through winding roads and lush countryside.

Alternatively, public buses also operate from Kandy to the nearby town of Rambukkana, from where travelers can hire a tuk-tuk or hike to the waterfall.
