As we are talking about the Ghatarani Temple, the temple is located near Ghatarani Waterfall. The temple is entirely focused on the Hindu Goddess Jatmai, which is said to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga. This temple is a must-visit place in Navratri because it is celebrated with much enthusiasm in the festive season.
Regarding the history of Ghatarani Temple or Shree Ghatarani Mandir, it is said that it has religious significance and that the Goddess Jatmani is very powerful. The shivling placed in Shree Ghatarani Mandir’s premises has its own story. According to the legends, the area fishermen wanted to keep the Shivling with them. They started digging deep to take out the Shivling sculpture, but the Shivling was getting deeper and deeper into the hole. After a lot of trials, the fishermen gave up on moving the idol. The localities believe that the Shree Ghatarani Mandir is a divine and sacred place.
Whenever you step into the Jatmai temple, you will find that the temple is nestled in the forest. If you look at the temple’s architecture, it has a massive tower. It is carved with granite, which gives it an elegant appearance. While entering, you can find those mythological murals, and at the garbhagriha, you will see the idol of Mata Jatmai. Another exciting thing about the temple is that the Shivling is on the premises.
The rituals you can perform in the temple are Aarti and Darshan, with the guidance of priests and chant mantras. If you are interested in Archana, it can also be performed as promised. The ritual of Archana is performed massively in Navratri.
While observing, you will find that the temple’s twelve columns are designed with stone carvings and have various faces of gods from mythology. The Rajiv Lochan Mandir has become one of the best places to visit near Ghatarani Waterfalls in the Rajim Lochan Mahotsav. It is held every year from the 16th of February to the 1st of March.
The sanctuary was established in 1976 and spread about 245 square feet. Looking at the topography, you will find that the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary has both hilly and flat terrains. “I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

“In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
