The latest Report says that a huge volcanic eruption led Indonesia to shift Island population because of safety concerns. Official Authorities issued a state of emergency until May 14 and said that falling parts of the volcano could also cause Tsunami.

Last month in Indonesia, Mount Ruang erupted, and since then has been emitting ash as far as Malaysia, resulting in the closing of the nearby airports and the cancellation of flights. Along with that, roads and buildings in the area were covered by a thick layer of volcanic ash. So, the decision has been made that the Island’s Population to shift permanently to the North Sulawesi province.

This was agreed upon after a meeting between the President and the Minister of Public Works and Housing, it is believed that around 10,000 people living on the island will move to Bolaang Mongondow in North Sulawesi, which is approximately 40 km away, and Permanent houses will be built in the Bolaang Mongondow for the shifting population

After the whole population is shifted, the government plans to designate Ruang Island as a conservation area.

Indonesia is home to more than 270 million people and is prone to earthquake activity around the Pacific Ocean. There are more than 100 active volcanoes on many of its islands, including volcanoes popular with tourists.

Back in 2017, about 40,000 people had to leave their homes when Mount Agung in Bali erupted. This caused a drop in tourism and around $1 billion in losses. So, “Indonesia To Shift Island Population” with all safety measures will ensure a smooth working transition without any negative impacts.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.
