Isa Khan’s Tomb in Delhi was erected in 1547, during the time of Mughal Emperor Sher Shah Suri’s rule, and is the burial site of Isa Khan Niazi, an Afghan aristocrat who served in Sher Shah Suri’s court. 

Isa Khan Niazi was a respected noble and military leader of the Pashtun Suri dynasty. This tomb is distinguished by its architectural style before the Mughal period. 

It beautifully shows the shift from Lodi architecture to the early stages of the Mughal architecture style.

The best way to reach this monument is via public transport, as it can be difficult to park your car in this area.

Jor Bagh metro station is near to Isa Khan’s Tomb and from here you can take an auto or even walk to Isa Khan’s Tomb. The distance between the metro station and Isa Khan’s Tomb is approximately 4 km. 

You can also take a taxi, or bus or visit this place by car. 

Tips For Visiting Isa Khan’s Tomb

  1. Be respectful of the customs and traditions of this place. 
  2. Dress comfortably and decently.
  3. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
  4. Isa Khan’s Tomb timings are from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, year-round.
  5. Carry a water bottle and stay hydrated.
  6. Make sure you eat before entering Isa Khan’s Tomb as food items are not allowed inside the building. 
  7. Refrain from damaging the historical property by scribbling names and messages on the walls of Isa Khan’s Tomb. It is a punishable offense. 
  8. Isa Khan’s Tomb ticket price is approximately 40 INR for Indians and 250 INR for Foreigners, there is also an additional cost for videography. 
  9. Maintain silence when you visit Isa Khan’s Tomb and follow the rules enlisted. 
  10. If you are accompanied by children, make sure they behave appropriately. 
  11. Isa Khan’s Tomb is open throughout the year but the best time to visit Isa Khan’s Tomb is from October to March, the weather during this time is cool and allows you to explore the areas nearby as well.
