History Of Jagmandir Udaipur Rajasthan

blog-images
Jagmandir Island Palace Udaipur has a long history that dates back to the early 17th century. It was constructed by Maharana Karan Singh II. The palace was later completed by his successor, Maharana Jagat Singh I, who named it Jagmandir in his honour. At that time, the Palace was like a summer resort for the royal family of Mewar.

Its historical significance is like when Prince Khurram, who later became Emperor Shah Jahan, tried to find a refuge there. When the Mughal prince rebelled against his father, Emperor Jahangir, in 1623, he found shelter at Jagmandir. He was given safety and protection by Maharana Karan Singh II as a sign of friendliness and kindness. One of the most famous monuments in the world, the Taj Mahal, is thought to have been designed by Shah Jahan with inspiration from the architectural design of the Gul Mahal.

Then the palace after serving the royal families, became Jagmandir Island Palace Hotel and served as a popular tourist place. The palace’s historical and cultural value has been further enhanced by its use as a site for lavish parties, royal weddings, and other events.
