Jammu And Kashmir To Start A Helpline-Cum-Grievance Redressal For Tourists

In an attempt to make Kashmir a safe place for tourists, the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department plans to set up a helpline for tourists. The announcement was made by the Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah.

The Secretary stated that there should be helplines for tourists, which will also work as a grievance redressal facility at the TRC in Srinagar and Jammu.

Regular consultations with the stakeholders will be taken for any improvements that can be made, and several strategies will be devised to overcome all the challenges that may occur.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the facilities that are already in place and see the scope for improvement or also discuss strategies that can be devised.

The Secretary also added that they need to make the place tourist-friendly and meet the needs and expectations of the travellers so that more and more tourists are attracted to the place. He also highlighted the importance of tourism on the economy’s growth and employment generation. Regular updation of facilities is essential to stay on top of the tourism game.

He also added that there should be routine checks on the rates and tariffs to see no overcharging, touting, or cheating happening anywhere.
