After a five-year pause, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will go ahead from June to August 2025 through Uttarakhand’s Lipulekh Pass and Sikkim’s Nathu La Pass.

Pilgrims can start the Kailash Mansarovar yatra registration at the official website. The selection is fully computerised, fair, random, and balanced for gender. This year’s Kailash Yatra offers pilgrims a chance to experience high-altitude trekking and Tibetan culture.

A total of five batches of 50 pilgrims will travel via Lipulekh Pass, while ten batches of 50 will go through Nathu La Pass. Since 2015, the Mansarovar Yatra application and selection have been online. Applicants can use the website feedback for any questions instead of letters or faxes. Pilgrims must also prepare for the tough terrain and high altitude on the Kailash Yatra.

The restart comes after India and China held talks following the 2020 Galwan clash and the COVID-19 suspension. After the October 2024 meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan, relations warmed up, leading to the decision to resume the pilgrimage in summer 2025.

India and China have also agreed to pull back troops from Depsang and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh, allowing normal patrols to resume. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar raised the issue again with Chinese leaders at events like the G-20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November 2024 and a special representative meeting in December 2024.

The last trip was in 2019, but it stopped in 2020 due to the pandemic and border tensions. Officials met in Beijing on March 26, 2025, to review progress and promote people-to-people contact, including direct flights between Delhi and Beijing and media and think tank exchanges.

The 2025 trip will mark 75 years of India-China diplomatic ties. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a sacred journey to Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. The Mansarovar Yatra has long been an important spiritual journey for devotees. Preparations for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra are already underway, with officials from both countries coordinating the details.

I did my first solo trip in India with WanderOn. Initially I was sceptical about their Meghalaya-Kaziranga trip as I didn't have any prior experience with them but the team assured me that it's going to be one of the best experiences of my life.

In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

After an amazing trip to Tirthan with WanderOn, I decided to go to Manali-Jispa with them and yet again, the experience was worth every penny. The place was very beautiful and the quality of service was top-notch, the itinerary was very good and the quality of transportation and stays were very good. Had an awesome time there and made some good friends as well. Lastly, our trip captains Priyasha and Rachit managed the entire trip very well and were so fun and made our trip an experience worth remembering.
