By Motobike: One of the best way to reach Mat Than Mountains is by riding a motorbike. The roads to reach here are narrow and winding, and motorbikes offer the easiest and most scenic way to explore.

By Car: If you are travelling with your families and groups, this is the best way to reach the God’s Eye Mountain. The route will stay the same for cars also via Highway 3 and DT205 which you can follow. However, you need to park your car at Thang Hen Lake or nearby villages as car cannot go any further. Here you can also get many accommodation options near Ban Danh Village, Cao Bang. You’ll need to park and walk 1.5 km from the base to the mountain.

By Bus: There is no direct bus to Mat Than Mountains, but buses are available to Cao Bang City from Hanoi and other major northern cities. From Hanoi, you can take a sleeper or day bus from My Dinh Bus Station to Cao Bang Bus Station a journey of around 7–8 hours. Once you arrive in Cao Bang City, you'll need to rent a motorbike or book a taxi/private car to continue your journey.

Route:

  • From Cao Bang City, take National Highway 3 for about 12 km.
  • Pass through the gorgeous Ma Phuc Pass.
  • Continue along Provincial Road 205 towards Tra Linh (about 7 km).
  • Reach Thang Hen Lake and head toward Ban Danh Hamlet.
  • Park at the mountain base and walk the final 1.5 km footpath to reach the viewpoint.

By Foot (Trekking): This way is the best for nature lovers and hikers looking for a mild adventure. From Ban Danh Hamlet, it’s a 1.5 km walk along grassy paths and gentle slopes to the base of God’s Eye Mountain. The trail is not too steep and suitable for hiking beginners.
