Sometimes, the best trips are the ones that make you realise how much of the world is waiting for you to explore. For Meghana Kalisetty, her sister, and their friend, an 8-day Bali trip with WanderOn in July 2026 was more than a holiday. If you’re searching for WanderOn Bali trip reviews to know us better, read along.

It was their first international adventure together as three women, filled with beautiful Bali stays, bucket-list experiences, spontaneous discoveries, and the comfort of knowing they had a dependable team supporting them throughout the journey.

Meghana chose WanderOn’s 8-day Bali private trip for a relaxed pace and comfortable, private transfers, and that decision paid off.

In this WanderOn review, Meghana shares what her Bali trip with friends was like, from private pool villas and island-hopping adventures to the people who made the journey easier. Read her full Bali trip review here.

How Three Women Planned Their First International Adventure to Bali?

meghnas first international adventure to bali

When you're planning your first international trip with your closest people, the excitement is often accompanied by a hundred little questions. Where should you go? Will the weather cooperate? Which destination offers the right mix of experiences? And how do you fit everything you want to do into one trip without making it feel rushed? You’ll get all these answers in this WanderOn review.

For Meghana, who originally comes from Hyderabad and now lives in Canada, this was her first international trip with WanderOn. It was a chance to plan something special with her sister and friend, who would be travelling from India. They wanted a holiday that brought together adventure, beaches, comfortable stays, and time to enjoy the destination without rushing through it.

Bali stood out for its mix of island escapes, cultural landmarks, adventure activities, and private pool villas. Once the destination was decided, the next step was choosing who to travel with.

But why did she choose WanderOn for her Bali trip?

Meghana had travelled to Kashmir with WanderOn before, so she was already familiar with the team and how its trips were managed. That previous experience gave her the confidence to book another trip with WanderOn.

With Bali decided and the arrangements in place, the three set off for eight days of island-hopping, adventure, and time together.

Meghana’s 8-Day Bali Itinerary: From Ubud to Nusa Penida

bali trip review

Meghana’s eight days in Bali brought together private pool villa stays, outdoor adventures, island-hopping, and sunsets by the sea. From the green landscapes of Ubud to the dramatic cliffs of Nusa Penida, here’s how her WanderOn private Bali trip unfolded.

Day 1: Arrival in Bali and a Private Pool Villa in Ubud

  • Arrived in Bali and transferred to Ubud.
  • Checked into a private pool villa and spent the rest of the day settling in and relaxing.

Day 2: Floating Breakfast, Bali Swing and ATV Ride

  • Started the morning with Bali’s signature floating breakfast at the villa.
  • Headed out for the Bali Swing for iconic photos, followed by a thrilling ATV ride through Bali’s countryside, passing paddy fields, village trails and water streams.

Day 3: Ubud to Gili Trawangan

  • Travelled to the pier and took a ferry to Gili Trawangan.
  • Reached the island and took a traditional cidomo, a horse-drawn cart, to the Garden Villa.
  • Spent the evening exploring the island and enjoying its laid-back beachside atmosphere.

Day 4: Snorkelling and Sunset Dinner on Gili T

  • Spent the day snorkelling, walking on the sand and enjoying time by the beach.
  • Wrapped up the evening with a sunset dinner at a beachside hotel with a stunning view.

Day 5: Gili Trawangan to Seminyak and Tanah Lot Temple

  • Took the ferry back to Bali and travelled to Seminyak.
  • Visited Tanah Lot Temple in the evening, catching the coastal views around sunset.

Day 6: Exploring Nusa Penida’s Iconic Coastline

  • Set off on an island day excursion to Nusa Penida.
  • Explored Kelingking Beach, Broken Island and Angel’s Billabong, taking in the island’s striking cliffs and turquoise waters.
  • Made time for snorkelling during the excursion and got back to Seminyak

Day 7: Melasti Beach, Suluban Beach, Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance

  • Visited Melasti Beach and Suluban Beach along Bali’s southern coast.
  • Headed to Uluwatu Temple to explore its ancient carvings and attended the evening Kecak Fire Dance.

Day 8: Departure from Bali

  • Checked out of Seminyak hotel and transferred for the departure journey, carrying home beautiful memories and time spent travelling together.

From Ubud’s villa mornings to Gili T’s island life and Nusa Penida’s dramatic coastline, the itinerary gave the trio a mix of adventure, sightseeing and shared experiences across Bali.

Private Pool Villas & Bucket-List Adventures in Bali

For Meghana, the Bali trip was an opportunity to do more than explore a new destination. Bali’s ATV ride was on her bucket list, so getting to experience it was a highlight of her time on the island.

Recalling these adventures, Meghana shared in her WanderOn review,“The ATV ride was one of the experiences I was really excited about, and I definitely didn’t want to miss the Bali swing. We reached early, which turned out to be a great decision because it wasn’t as crowded as I had expected. I could actually enjoy the experience instead of spending most of the time waiting around.”

One of the first things Meghana remembers fondly about her Bali trip is the accommodation. Their stay in Ubud was a bedroom pool villa, and it quickly became one of her favourite parts of the experience.

Talking about her stay, she recalled,“The villa was lovely, and spending the first evening relaxing by the pool was such a nice way to unwind. The floating breakfast the next morning was another experience I really enjoyed. It made the stay feel special, and I loved having that time to relax before heading out to explore more of Bali.”

For the three friends, the beginning of their WanderOn Bali trip was already delivering the mix of adventure and relaxation they had hoped for.

Gili T: An Island That Made Slowing Down Feel Like the Plan

After Ubud, Meghana’s journey continued to Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three Gili islands, where she checked into another villa-style room.

Talking about her time on the island, Meghana recalled,“I thought Gili Trawangan would be much more crowded, but it was actually quite manageable. We really enjoyed walking along the beach, trying snorkelling, and just spending time by the water.”

One recommendation, however, turned an ordinary evening into one of her favourite memories from Gili T.

As Meghana remembered it,“Wayan Agus, our driver, suggested that we have dinner at a hotel by the beach with a stunning sunset view. We decided to go for it, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of the trip. The whole setting was so lovely, and I’m glad we took his suggestion.”

For a trip filled with excitingadventure activities, this slower day was just as valuable. Sometimes, a memorable holiday isn't about how many places you manage to visit. It's about having enough time to enjoy where you are.

Tanah Lot and a Sunset Worth Staying For

After their time on Gili Trawangan, the friends returned to Bali and continued exploring the island around Seminyak.

Their visit to Tanah Lot Templebrought another memorable moment to the trip. She recalled,

“Tanah Lot was really lovely. It was great to explore the ancient temple and see how it sits right by the sea. But the sunset was my favourite part. The view was beautiful, and it’s one of those moments from the trip that I think I’ll remember for a long time.”

By this point, the trip had offered a little of everything: adventure in Ubud, beach time on Gili T, and coastal views around Bali. The variety kept the eight days interesting without making the holiday feel rushed.

Nusa Penida: Dramatic Cliffs, Turquoise Waters and a Day of Exploring

first international trip with wanderon

Nusa Penida brought a completely different landscape to Meghana’s Bali adventure. The day included visits to Kelingking Beach, Broken Island, and Angel’s Billabong, where dramatic cliffs and striking coastal scenery offered a contrast to the relaxed beaches of Gili T.

The island's natural beauty made the excursion a major highlight, while snorkelling added another adventure to the day.

Looking back at the variety of places she explored, Meghana shared,“Nusa Penida was one of the places I was really glad we got to visit. Seeing Kelingking Beach, Broken Island, and Angel’s Billabong in person was a different experience altogether. We also got to go snorkelling, so the day had a nice mix of sightseeing and adventure.”

For Meghana and her friends, it was another day filled with opportunities to explore, take in the scenery, and make the most of their time together.

The Uluwatu Temple Incident That Became an Unexpected Travel Memory

Not every travel memory goes exactly as planned—and sometimes, those are the moments you end up talking about later.

When they visited Uluwatu Temple, Meghana recalled, “A monkey snatched my spectacles before I could enter the temple. Without them, I couldn’t see properly, so I had to stay outside. There were warnings about keeping our belongings secure around the monkeys, but once it happened, there wasn’t much I could do. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a fun experience altogether.”

Even with that unexpected turn, the experience didn't overshadow the trip. It became one of those unusual stories that make a holiday feel real—not a perfectly choreographed collection of photographs, but an adventure with its own surprises.

The incident also offered a practical reminder for anyone planning to visit Bali's temple areas: keep your belongings secure, pay attention to local warnings, and be especially careful around monkeys.

What Made the WanderOn Bali Trip Experience Special?

Beautiful destinations and exciting activities are important parts of a holiday, but the people helping you navigate it can make a real difference, too.

For Meghana, having someone she could reach out to made the overall experience more comfortable, particularly while travelling abroad with her sister and friend.

She appreciated Deeksha's support throughout the journey, explaining,“Deeksha was always available whenever I had a question or needed help with something. She was really supportive, helped us with our requests, and made sure any issues were sorted out quickly. That made the whole trip feel much more comfortable.”

Their driver, Wayan Agus, also contributed to the experience. Meghana said, “He was friendly and really helpful throughout the trip. Having a reliable person on an all-women international trip was such a big relief.”

For Meghana, the experience reflected a team that was organised, attentive, and well-coordinated. She came away with no major complaints and plenty of good things to say about the people who helped make the trip happen.

What Would Meghana Have Changed About Her Bali Trip?

Even though Meghana had a positive experience overall about this first international trip with WanderOn, she felt there were a few small things that could have made the trip even better. She said,

“I’ve all the good thoughts about WanderOn. However, since you’re asking this, I would like to add that the Seminyak hotel washrooms were kind of okayish, but could be spacious and clean. Also, the hotel food could have had a few more options, although I really enjoyed trying different kinds of Asian food and local treats, especially the chocolate-filled buns. These are a couple of things I’d suggest improving for future trips, but overall, I had a really good experience.”

These were minor suggestions rather than major concerns, but they offered useful feedback on how the experience could be made better for future travellers.

Would She Travel With WanderOn Again?

wanderon-bali-trip-experience

From the ATV ride and Bali Swing to the relaxed days on Gili T, sunset dinners by the beach, and the landscapes of Nusa Penida, Meghana's 8-day Bali itinerary had plenty of memorable moments. She also appreciated the driver's local recommendations, which helped them decide what to explore and what to skip.

As she puts it:

“We got some good suggestions from our driver about places to explore and skipped whatever didn't fit our plans. Even the unexpected incident at Uluwatu became part of the experience, so now we have an interesting story to tell.”

When we asked what stood out this time?

She instantly replied,“Beyond the destinations, what really made the difference was the support from Deeksha and Wayan, along with an itinerary that gave her time for both adventure and relaxation. I am completely satisfied with the overall experience and am even planning to travel with WanderOn again next year.”

And perhaps that’s the best takeaway from Meghana’s WanderOn Bali trip experience: not just the places she explored, but the experience that made her want to travel with WanderOn again.
