Honestly,Thimphu caught us completely off guard! We'd heard stories, but nothing prepared us for this magical mountain capital. This little capital city packs a serious punch! We wandered around there last summer and were blown away.
The giant Buddha statue up on the hill? Absolutely massive - you can see it from practically everywhere in town. The Tashichho Dzong fortress is pretty impressive too - all white walls and wooden details. Just beautiful.
We got lucky and caught an archery competition near the stadium—those guys are incredibly skilled! The weekend market was another highlight. We picked up some local crafts that friends back home loved.
