However, the British Police confirmed that these claims are wrong. They confirmed the suspect was born in the UK and is Christian, not Muslim. 

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called it the “pure violence” and not protest. He has vowed to enforce the law against those attacking Muslims. 

Interior Minister Yvette Cooper said the riots were an overreaction leading to racial hatred. She criticized attacks on police and called the riots unjustified. The protests involving hundreds of people, has resulted in looting, attacks on mosques, violence against minorities, and property damage, with some incidents captured on social media.

The UK is facing its worst riots since 2010, with violence spreading to big cities like Liverpool, Manchester, and Leeds. Police have arrested 378 people so far.
