Explore The Majestic Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace Udaipur

Welcome to Udaipur, which is one of the top places in Rajasthan. Known as the “Venice of the East” or the “City of Lakes.” This captivating city in Rajasthan has a rich cultural and natural heritage, which makes it famous in all our Rajasthan trip packages. Rajasthan is well-known for its majestic palaces, forts, cultural ancestry, and expansive deserts and it is often referred to as the Land of Kings.

Udaipur is surrounded by five beautiful famous lakes, Pichola, Fateh Sagar, Swaroop Sagar,  Rang Sagar, and Doodh Talai. Udaipur has become a part of the National Lake Conservation Plan of the Central Government. If you think Udaipur is all about lakes then you might be a little wrong.

To witness the architectural beauty of Udaipur you must visit the Monsoon Palace, which is nestled atop the majestic Bansdara hills, standing as a grand wonder that reflects the grandeur of a bygone era, and offers a panoramic view of the city, as well as its lakes, making it an ideal spot for monsoon photography.

This 19th-century Sajjangarh Palace, built by the visionary Maharana Sajjan Singh, served as a monsoon retreat and a hunting lodge for the royals of Udaipur. However, his untimely passing left this majestic palace unfinished, but the remains make for an intriguing procession that graces the Udaipur skyline. As you gaze upon the awe-inspiring palace, bask in the scenic views of the town and its environment.

Strategically built to allow the royal family to experience sightings of the monsoon clouds, a harbinger of happiness in the desert state, it stands encircled in melancholy these days. However, it offers stunning viewpoints of Udaipur and the surrounding countryside places and lakes, especially during sundown.

At the foot of the hill is the 5-sq. km Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, in which wild animals like chital, sambar, wild boar, and blue bull may be visible. Jiyan Sagar Lake also known as Badi Lake is another one of the wonderful places near Sajjangarh monsoon palace Udaipur.
