Shaukat Mahal was built in the 1830s by Nawab Qudsiya Begum (She built Gohar Mahal)as a wedding gift for her daughter Sikander Jehan Begum. Shaukat Mahal is part of a royal complex around the Iqbal Maidan, formerly known as Khirniwala Maidan. Now, if you’re thinking it looks a bit different from other buildings in Bhopal, you’re right! Shaukat Mahal history and its design and architecture are what make it stand out from other monuments.
