Established in 1980 by Swami Sambha Shiva Murthy, the temple is famous for having a monumental 108-foot-tall linga carved from a single granite stone. Surrounding the main linga are thousands of smaller lingas made from materials like stone, brass, and silver, adding to the temple’s glory. 

The complex also has a huge 35-foot-tall Nandi statue, among the largest in the world. Visitors can explore eleven smaller temples dedicated to various deities within the temple campus.

Situated on rocks associated with Brigu Maharishi, just below the temple lies a spot dedicated to Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s divine vehicle.

This Lesser known temples in Kolar has an impressive gopuram (tower) and a nearby Kalyani (water tank). Visitors take steps from the kalyani to reach the sanctum where the idol of Venkataramana (Srinivasa) is housed. This idol is viewed through a unique six-holed window, adding to the temple’s distinctive charm.

Further inside, at a different level, is the shrine of Padmavathi, Lord Venkateshwara’s wife, dating back to the mid-19th century. Devotees can have a darshan (sacred viewing) of the deity through a small window within the sanctum.

7. Ronur Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy Temple

Located at a distance of 30 km from Kolar, Ronur Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy temple is one of the oldest temples in the Kolar district.  This lesser known temples in Kolar is dedicated to Lord Venkataramana and Goddess Lakshmi and is known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
