The Grand Palace is a famous old place in Bangkok, Thailand. It was built in 1782 when King Rama I decided to move the capital city to Bangkok. He wanted a grand and beautiful palace for the king and the royal family.

For over 150 years, many Thai kings lived here. It was also where important government work happened. Comprising of many buildings, one of the most special is Wat Phra Kaew, the Emerald Buddha Temple Bangkok.

The Bangkok Palace grew bigger over time, when each king added new halls, temples and walls. You get to witness different styles of Thai art and architecture all around. Today, the king does not live there anymore but the Grand Palace Bangkok is still used for big ceremonies and is open for visitors from all over the world, making it one of the best places to visit in Bangkok.

1. Public Bus (Budget-Friendly)

Routes: Take bus 47 from Khok Wua Intersection (Opposite lottery) straight to Wat Phra Kaew (Grand Palace Thailand).

Time and cost: 10-12 Minutes, INR 50

2. MRT Subway + Walk

Routes: Take the MRT Blue Line to Sanam Chai Station.

Walk: About a 10-15 minute stroll to the Bangkok Palace.

Cost and time: INR 80, Around 15 minutes

3. BTS Skytrain + River Boat (Scenic Route)

Routes: Take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin Station

Walk to Sathorn Pier and catch a Chao Phraya Express Boat to Tha Tian Pier

Walk for 5 minutes to the Grand Palace Bangkok.

Cost and time: Boat fares: INR 50-100, 20-30 Minutes

4. Taxi or Tuk-Tuk

Time: 10 minutes (depending on where you start)

Expected fares: From Downtown Bangkok: Around INR 200

5. On Foot (If You are Nearby)
