According to Hindu mythology, Sage Vashisht, one of the seven wise men famously known as the Saptarishis and the royal guru of Lord Ram, used to reside here. It is believed that when the sage was extremely sad, he tried to take his life in the nearby river, which is later named Vipasha, nowadays known as the Beas River.

He tied himself with ropes and jumped into the river, but miraculously, the river untied him and left him safely on the shore. From that day, the river is named Vipasha, which means freedom from bondage. The Sage decided to spend the rest of his life here, which gave its name to the place Vashisht Village.

Later with time, the sage started struggling to walk because of his old age. And he has to take a long walk just to bathe that’s when Lakshman Ji, younger brother of Lord Ram used his divine powers and shot an arrow into the earth, which created this magical Vashisht Hot Water Spring. Many locals believe that Lord Ram himself has bathed in this hot spring along with his brothers.

We as a couple chose WanderOn and joined a group trip to himachal in which we covered Kasol and Manali. The main highlight of the trip was the Kheerganga trek which was fabulous. The journey to Kheerganga base camp will always remain in our hearts. I am super happy and satisfied with the accommodation provided by WanderOn. The transportation is also good but there is a chance of improvement. We got 2 super cool trip captains Vijul and Garvit always by our side in any situation. They did an awesome job accompanying us along with arranging things for us based on the situation. Got to spent a forever memorable week with the group. Thanks again WanderOn

I had an incredible adventure on the Manali-Jispa trip, which was my first solo travel experience. The trip was exceptional largely due to the fantastic group and our amazing captains. Everyone was incredibly helpful, inclusive, and joyful, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Captains Ashwin and Vedansh were the perfect pair of captains one can ever have, striking a perfect balance between chill vibes and necessary order. The hike to Jogni Falls, baralacha pass was particularly unforgettable, with breathtaking views and shared moments that were truly special. The campsite at Jispa was nothing short of amazing, and the game of Mafia that the captains taught us became a highlight, filled with laughter and excitement. Choosing this trip was one of the best decisions I've made, providing me with memories that will last a lifetime. I hope to find Vedansh and Ashwin as captains on my future trips too 😁😁 .....
